are you making this common mistake when you train your biceps.

Biceps.

Guns.

Pythons.

The corny names go on add nauseum and if I didn't have to be at work in the next 40 minutes, then I'd probably add in a few more.

Despite the corny names, training your biceps properly will dramatically increase your ability to unleash your true strength potential.

Anyway, One common mistake that most people make when they perform a bicep curl is to curl the dumbbell up to a almost complete O degree angle, which looks like this:

i i
i i
i i
ii
i

This is dumb. It puts pressure on the elbow joint, which over time will lead to chronic pain.

Now, why would a person do something so dumb?

Well, I guess the intention is to increase the maximum contraction of the bicep muscle.

That's not how it works.

When you squeeze the muscle past either TO or past that angle, then the bicep muscle actually RELAXES, so you don't get the benefit of increased contraction.

You don't get any benefit PERIOD.

So, how can you start to curl the dumbbell to a more efficient angle and develop more strength and keep your elbow joint working perfectly into old age ( nowadays, old age is 20 something's....)?

Well, you can start by reading the above sentence again until something Jumps out at you and you really get it and let it...sink in...

Or I can just spare the couples that you could have used to come to the logical conclusion which is in the damn sentence... and just show you...

When you curl a dumbbell, you want to curl to about a 30 - 40 degree angle, at which the bicep is forced to undergo the maximal contraction. A 40 degree angle looks like this:

I i
i i
i i
i i
i i
i i
i i
i i

Never ever close or squeeze the elbow joint completely shut... or you'll gonna have to be doing you bicep curls in your imagination.

Use your time wisely....

If you have certain goals that you want to accomplish, then you absolutely must use your time effectively.

Make every hour count.

When you stop and think about it, The average person has about 12 hours during which they are awake. Never mind the fact that we are asleep for a major part of our lives, during our subconscious minds are given free reign to help us assimilate all the experiences of the past day and repair our muscles and other organs.

Much of our daily life is spent running on auto pilot, meaning that we are slaves to our habits, whether they are productive or not so productive.

The key is to WAKE UP... Snap out of the many useless trances of the day... and get some important s@#$ done... Work on that book for an hour... go for that walk that you've been putting off for YEARS now.... Take that money you've been saving in your shoebox and put it into a Roth IRA or a CD or by bonds or an Interest bearing savings account...

Are you starting to see my point?

Do something with the time you have.

Time flows much like a river... once that stream flows over the cliff, it's gone.

Sincerely,

Amir
