a break from work doesnt mean a break from staying in shape...

Being a personal trainer, I have first hand experience with the healing benefits of regular moderate exercise. All you need is 20 minutes a day of steady activity to stay in shape and stay lean.

I'm not a fanatic buy any means, but...

I take working out very seriously. I treat each training session as a chance to uncover my weak points and train them to be my strongest assets.

Anyway....

I was out partying with my nephew and nieces and I asked my nephew if he was going to work out tomorrow(today). His answer:

"I'm on vacation.. I'm not doing nothin!!!"

Don't you know how hard I wanted to slap his big shiny earring out of his ear?!!?!?

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Why the hell would anyone want to take a break from exercising?

Regular exercisers know how good it feels to work out. You know how good you feel after breaking a mild sweat.

Did you know that your skin is the biggest organ on your body.

Did you know that most of the toxins that we eliminate are expelled through the pores of our skin?

When you look at those two benefits of exercise, it does make sense to me that a person would take a break from their program.

Of course, if you are sick or you have an injury, then of course, take a break and reduce your activity level. You don't have to stop completely.

Did you know that ancient greek doctors prescribed light exercise as a form of "medicine"?

Can you say... Tangent?!?!?

Anyway..

You can still maintain your physique with moderate exercise, no matter where you vacation.

All you need are:
1) Resistance, which can be provided with your own bodyweight.
2) A flight stairs or a city block, so you can go for a power walk or jog( sprinting is best for increase oxygen uptake).
3) Room so you can stretch all your muscles after your workout.

And..viola!!

You have a complete workout in 15 minutes or less!! While you're on vacation!!

BOOM!!!

An easy process to stop smoking FOREVER!!!

Yes: there is a simple method to stop smoking forever, in about 3 weeks or less.

You may have already discovered this technique in your quest to stop the smoking habit.

Well firstly, you have to realize that it is a habit, just all other habits that we have:

We brush our teeth, we eat when we're hungry, we sleep when we are tired ( if the circumstance permit, but that doesn't always sop us now, does it?)

All habits can be squashed and replaced by new, better habits.

Firstly, use some common sense:

What are the triggers that cause you to smoke? What has to happen for you to reach into your shirt pocket and "light one up"?

If you can eliminate some of those triggers, then you make it that much easier to stop smoking now.

In addition, use some more common sense: If you continue to smoke like you do now, what will your life be like?

What will your clothes smell like?

How much money will you WASTE on cigarettes that you could be putting into a retirement fund?

Can you SEE how common sense can be a good thing?

Before you can stop smoking forever right now.... you have to imagine a future in which you are some free.

You have to imagine what it would be like to smell really good... instead of smelling like smoke and ass.... er ash.....

What would your life be like if you didn't smoke anymore?

A)Would your teeth be cleaner and whiter than they are right now?

B)Would your skin be smoother?

C)Would you be able to walk a flight of stairs without be winded?

D)Would you not have that smokers cough or horrible breath?

Since we're asking questions now, let's ask a better one:

What would have to happen for you for to throw away all your cigarettes right now and never smoke one again for the rest of your life?

What if you could find a better way to relax your nerves... a FREE way to do so?

If you could get a piece of paper and a pen and right out all the reasons that you have for not smoking anymore, what would you right?

How many reasons do you think that you could come up with now?

I bet you have reasons already and you are probably going to start thinking about all those reasons in a few moments from now....

What would it be like if every time you reach for a cigarette, you started to feel sick to your stomach... and every time you even looked at a cigarette, you started to feel queasy inside your stomach... you know that feeling you get when you feel like your going to throw up...

What would it be like if you got that that THROW UP feeling every time you looked a cigarette? What if you though about puke and vomit every time you light up a cigarette?

Just some food for thought...

When you really stop and think about it now... quitting smoking forever isn't the hard. In fact, you'll find that it's the easiest thing you'll ever do in your life.

Can you remember a time when you gave up a habit that you KNEW was bad for you? Or maybe you can remember a time when you gave up a person who was bad for you?

As Henry Ford said:

Whether you think you can do a thing or you think you can't... you're right."

Powerful words, right?

Now...

I'm not saying that as you're laying in bed tonight and drifting off to sleep, you'll lay there decide to sit smoking forever. I'm not saying that as you lay in bed tonight, you'll make a mental picture of a cigarette and make that cigarette turn black and white in your mind now.... i'm not saying that you draw a big red xxx through that black and white cigarette....

But who knows?

You may fall asleep tomorrow night and suddenly realize that you hadn't had a single cigarette the entire day...

Would that be amazing?

Change your anger into Jet fuel.....

It's okay to be angry. It's a natural human response, give to us by god to protect us.

Have you ever been in a situation where someone did something that caused you to feel disrespected and you got so angry that you had to do something about it?

9 times out of 10 in a situation like that, someone violated one of your values, something that you hold sacred and your response to that was to become angry.

They disrespected you and unwittingly activated the yang forces inside of you, the sleeping dragon inside of us all.... the ferocious tiger that lays in the cave deep inside us, relaxing, until some is dumb enough to awaken it.

A lot of people find it surprising when it happens, probably because they weren't even aware that they had such a thing snide of them.

I find it very interesting that something like that can happen.

Anyway, Speaking of sleeping tigers and Dragons....

If you're not happy with where you are right now, and deep down inside you now feel that you deserve better...

Wake up your tiger. Rouse Your dragon.

Ride them to your goals and desires. Ride them into your perfect future.

Anger is like a shot of rocket fuel that energizes you.

Now, a lot of you jedis out there may be thinking " but Amir...Anger leads to the dark side!!!"

My answer to you is this:

It can. Being angry and not expressing it or expelling it can lead you to the dark side.

It's your intent that is more important than anything.

If you intend to hurt people then that can be a bad thing.

If you intend to use your anger to push yourself to new levels of excellence and power and to better yourself, then it's perfectly ok.

Can you see the difference between the two now....

Start to think of all the ways you can use your anger and dissatisfaction with your current lifestyle to step up into the lifestyle that you truly want...

Have fun with this!!!

Whether your poison is calisthenics or weights, you still have to stretch

True story.

Overly worked muscles can lead to injury and can even be the difference between life and death.

It should really be common sense, but apparently its not.

Whether your doing a leg press on the smith machine or doing hindu squats, you're still causing the muscles to tense up and contract.

To make a long story short, anytime a muscle contracts, it goes from lengthened to shortened.

This shortening process is crucial for generating tension, which helps us display strength.

Anywhoo...

A muscle that is already tightened(shortened) cannot generate the proper tension to generate muscular force.

Why is this important?

Its important because you might go to bench 300 pounds like you normally do, and you might not be able to get the weight up because your chesticles are overly contracted and already tightened.
