Abs are awesome.
They are nature's armor and while they CANNOT stop bullets, they do offer excellent protection against punches and kicks. They also protect your back by keeping it from sagging inward/forward.
Abs just look cool in general.
While some people neglect ab training...
Others obsess about it.
Now.
Unless your a fitness model, then you don't need to train your abs 7 days a week.
If you, Like Me, just want to have abs that look great AND functional, then you can train your abs 3 times a week and experience amazing results.
I'm putting together a short routine that will strengthen your abs and core and as a result, will enhance your performance and your strength.
Another thing that most people aren't aware of is the fact that training your abs alone will only provide you small gains in strength and performance, whereas training your core in it's entirety will increase your strength TREE- mendously.
Be on the look out for that routine.....
Amir

You gotta fuel up if you're gonna go the distance...
In addition to warming up properly, you have to eat the right way to provide you body with the fuel to help you power your way through your workout.
As a general rule of thumbs, if you're going to be performing an activity that last more than 60 minutes, then you want to eat more carbs and some protein and fats, in this ratio or something similar:
70% carbs/20% protein/10% fats
You can adjust the ratio of proteins and fats as you like, but just make sure that you have tons of carbs.
Carbs are very important for many reasons, but here are two reasons that are the most important for performance and weight loss:
1) Carbs are necessary for our bodies to convert our fat stores into energy.
2) Carbs have tons of vitamins and minerals in them.
Do you realize that carbs are SO important in our daily lives that our bodies will convert carbs into fat?
Whether you're running or lifting weights, then you're going to want to make certain that you provide your body with enough carbs to help you get the job done.
How many times has this happened to you:
You're in the middle of your workout... you're goin' hard and your tossing the weights all around the room... when... all of a sudden... you start to get shaky.... your legs are starting to feel weak.... your arms are starting to give way as you're holding that 200 pound barbell over your head...
Now.
What just happened?
Your blood sugar suddenly dropped and now you're screwed, like Jenna Jameson (enter favorite porn star here...)
This shaky feeling is something that people who workout without FIRST eating something tend to experience( you workout on a totally empty stomach, then talk to me and let me know how you like it... or don't...)
Food is Fuel.
How can you fuel your activity if you don't have any food?
If you've ever seen a football(american) on television, then you'll notice that the athletes are always sipping gatorade while they are waiting their turn... Now.
I wonder why they might be sitting there sipping on Gator Juice...
It couldn't be because a pro athlete wouldn't dare run the risk of running of out energy and blowing the game and ultimately, his career... could it?
Before you workout, EAT SOMETHING.
How much should you eat?
Let our stomach be your guide?
How hungry do you FEEL now?
If you're not that hungry, then just eat a tiny bit.
If you're hungry, then eating something, as you keep in mind the above sample ratio of carbs/pros/Fats.
Once you're fueled up, warm up and go have a god workout.
Post exercise nutrition is JUST AS, if not MORE, important than Pre exercise nutrition.
If you;ve been working out for an hour or more, then you're going to want change the ratio around. this time in favor of protein.
If you don't already know this, protein is responsible for the maintenance and repair of muscles. In a activity that you've been doing for an hour or more, then chances are that your body break down some protein to help you make it through "said activity".
You want to increase your intake of protein to hel your body make the necessary repairs, and you want the carbs so that you body can rebuild your glycogen( muscle energy) stores.
Are you starting to see how proper nutrition can be the difference between greatness and...mediocrity?
Have fun playing around with the proper ratio for you. As we are all different individuals with differences in physiology, the ratio that works for me may not work for you; so you may need more protein before your workout, whereas I need tons of carbs for my workout... and the same is said for post exercise nutrition.
What ratios work best for YOU?
Drop me a line and let me know!!

You can FEEL the difference....
Making healthy habits a part of your daily life is BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION.
The process involves the extinction of the undesired behavior and replacing it with a more healthy, productive behavior.
For instance, if you want to stop smoking, you find another way to relax and do that until it's as normal to as smoking USED TO be.
There are many easy ways to relax naturally ( most people smoke to relax, and most other people just have some type of oral fixation where the HAVE TO have this cigarette in their mouth... read into that what you want...)
Now.
What does Behavior Modification have to do with eating healthy?
Well...
I've said before and I'll continue to say it:
You have to eliminate those unhealthy, low nutrient foods and replace them with healthy whole foods( eggs, fish, beef, poultry, fruits, legumes, vegetables, etc).
You see, your body is MUCH smarter than you can possibly imagine.
It should be, as it's had thousands (if not more)of years to evolve and grow.
The body knows what is good for it.
Much of the foods that we eat today are processed and refined, to the point where the nutrients in them have been destroyed or decreased in effectiveness, to the point where they have to be replaced.
When we make processed foods a major part of our daily diet, we deny our bodies the nutrients that it needs and a result of that is that:
Instead of reaching for a couple of apples or some strawberries or a lean cut of turkey or chicken...
Most people are conditioned to reach for a honey bun or a nutty bar or a brownie.
Don't get me wrong:
I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THE SNACKS THAT I JUST MENTIONED!!! THEY ARE DELICIOUS!!!
But all thing in moderation, yes?
Now.
When you start to choose healthier snacks over not-so-healthy-but-extremely-delicious-snacks, you'll notice something amazing happening:
Your body will actually crave more of the healthy snacks!!!
You'll start to feel hungry and you'll find yourself standing at your fridge, and you'll automatically reach for that apple, because you're KNOWS that it is healthier for you!!!
YOUR BODY KNOWS THE TRUTH!!!
When you start to make healthy food choices and do regularly (for at least 30 days), you'll will start to have more energy and clarity of thought, and you'll automatically find yourself wanting to be active, and before you know it...
You're lean and your muscles are strong and powerful...
And you're clothes are falling off of you...
And people( possibly animals) are hitting on you daily...
Food is Fuel.
You truly ARE what you eat. At the end of the day, your body is a energy creating machine.. a 2 million year old alchemist that can change the food you eat into energy that you can use to conquer the world..
It as if you're body is like a nuclear reactor...
I don't know about your car, but mine only runs on gas.
If your body is your car, and you're putting sugar in the gas tank, then how FAR do you think it'll take you before...
It TOTALLY breaks down and you're stuck on the side of the road.
Making changes in your eating habits can be as simple or hard as you make it.
When you start to eat healthy and choose more fruits and veggies over honey buns and lollipops, then...
YOU CAN FEEL THE DIFFERENCE.
Now.
Notice how you feel 20 minutes after eating a apple or some other fruit (peaches are good)...
and notice how you FEEL 20 minutes after you eat your favorite not-so-healthy treat...
I'm not saying that the next time you find yourself in the supermarket, you're going to BUY APPLES AND ORANGES... and completely forget to buy those treats that you're starting to ignore right now...
And when you're sitting at home, you'll find yourself starting to crave a big... red.... juicy... apple... and you can taste the sweetness of the juice now... can't you?
I'll be proposing soon... do you think YOU can pass the test?
We'll find out, won't we?

No matter how gentle the exercise....
Make sure you warm up first!!!
Many people skip the warm up, thinking that they are fine and they can just jump straight into their workout without doing it...
And many people "hit the wall" prematurely, because they didn't take the time to warm up properly and raise their body temperature and get their cardiovascular system revved up for the activity before hand.
Has that ever happened to you?
Have you ever just jumped ( or more specifically, set yourself up properly) on your bench and proceeded to bench press a certain weight without FIRST warming up?
I'm sure you've noticed a difference in performance, haven't you?
Sure, you maybe mentally prepared to exercise... but you have to prepare your physical body as well.
Performing heavy activity without first warming up your muscles and your cardiovascular system is like...
Going from 0 to 120 in two seconds: good (acceptable even) for a bugotti... Bad for your heart and your performance.
To stress the importance of warming up before you workout...
Did you know that Tai Chi practitioners warm up before they perform a set?
YES, TAI CHI PRACTITIONERS WARM UP FIRST?
Now.
If followers of such a gentle art have the common sense to warm up first, because they know that when they are warmed up, they can easily and effortlessly "hold the ball" or "Ward off"...
Then doesn't it make perfect sense that us big macho men(and women) should make sure we take 10 minutes to warm up before we jog..
And warm up before we Lift weights...
And warm up before we play tennis.
The point is this:
Warming up is a way of turning on all the physiological systems in our body and preparing ourselves to function at our best-isses.(my word... use it in front of your boss at your own peril...)
or you an think about it like this:
When you're on the bench and you about to press 200 pounds COLD, without warming up first with some light reps...
How easy do you think it's gonna be to activate all those chestical muscle and rep that weight?
You can tell me when you're in the afterlife...
Do whatever you can to warm up first. The easiest way to gauge whether or not you're warming is to determine whether or... you're warming up.
A good rule of thumb that i like to follow is to warm up to the point where the muscle group i'll be working is warm and feels worked, but not fatigued( there is a MASSIVE distinction between the two states of being).
I also warm up until i'm in a mild sweat. Then, when i'm warm, I feel extremely confident and my performance is always improved. I can definitely notice the difference.
Take a page from the book of World Class Athletes: No athlete worth his or her salt would ever jump right into training without first warming up for AT LEAST 30 minutes or more.
Warming up is that important...
And while you may not be a world class athlete (yet?), you can still apply that principle to you own training and notice the incredible leaps and bounds in your strength and agility.
SO today's lesson kids?
No matter what type of exercise you intend to do:
Whether it's burpees ( I'll be making a short video on that in the next couple of days, so be on the lookout for it...)
Whether it's yoga (YES, EVEN YOGA-ERS WARM UP. TAKE THE F@#$%%^ HINT AND DO IT!!!)
Whether it's volleyball...
Whether it's calisthenics...
Take the time to...
WARM UP.
Have fun:)

Single sets are the easiest way to get into shape!!!
If you, Like Me, like to exercise but not ALL the time, then you know how hard it can be to just get up and do it.
Now.
Being a Certified Personal Trainer, I talk with many people that WANT to get into shape, but they don't like to work out.
They just don't feel motivated.
I can totally understand that feeling... when you really want to get something done, but you don't have the energy to Take the First Step and make the first move.
It's a new year and you create a new you... the "you" that you've always wanted to be.
Th easiest way to build a habit of exercising daily and getting into better shape is to do Single sets.
A single set of any movement is just what the name says:
You perform a single set of any exercise/movement.
Let's say for example you want to tone up your legs and you don't feel like doing 3 or 4 sets of lunges.
What the solution?
Do a single set of lunges and then put the weights DOWN.
Notice how you feel after you've done that set.
Now, if you feel like you can do another set, then go ahead and do another set.
Simple, right?
Here's the really awesome thing about this:
You can feel go about doing only the first set and nothing more, because you've actually exercised your muscles!!
The key is taking it one small chunk at a time.
The reason many people get turned off because they are prepared to do multiple sets.
When most people think about doing multiple sets, they automatically start to feel discouraged.
You don't have to do all those sets at once; you can do a single set of challenging reps and then see how you feel.
A good, stimulating set usually consists of 12-15 reps with a reasonably heavy weight, something that can fatigue your muscles within the given set.
Take a rest and see if you feel like you can do even more.
It's a "win-win" for you, because whether you do multiple sets or not, you've still warmed up your muscles and given them a workout.
If you love this article and you want even more awesome ways to get into amazing in a very short period of time, then you absolutely MUST check out my book, "How to be your own personal trainer!!", which is on sale right now.
By now, you must realize that being in shape is one of the master keys of having an amazing life.
Can you really enjoy dancing with that really HOT blonde chick if you're huffing and puffing after the first song?
While you really stop and think about that, do yourself a huge favor and check out the book right now.
I'm not saying that you have to go there and buy it now before I take it down forever....
But wouldn't it be nice if you could have the tools to motivate yourself any time and get into amazing shape easily and effortlessly?
Have Fun:)
Amir

Why is it that the ride home is always quicker than the ride to your destination?
Have you ever really stopped to think why this is now?
I've solved that mystery... or at least, me being the slow person that I am, finally realized why:
During your ride down, the anticipation you feel is to blame. Don't you remember the feeling you get the night before christmas...
It starts to feel like time has slowed wwwwwaaaaaaayyyyy dddddoooooowwwwwwnnnnnn......
It's like.... you're walking on a road... and you can see your destination right in front of you now... it's someplace that you can't wait to be... and then suddenly your destination starts move away from you...
Well, that's what it's like when you'r heading to your destination.
However...
On the ride back home, you're more relaxed and all that excitement that that you built up by thinking about all the things that you're gonna do when you reach there..is gone.
Hopefully, that excitement is now replaced with awesome memories... and now you're on your way home... back to work... back to responsibilities... back to bills...
So... maybe that ride back
Sucks...
But....mystery solved.....
Now, the better question is:
How can we make tht ride back home as exciting and amazing as the ride TO our destination?
Stop... and really think about that for a moment....
If there was a way that you could you the time on your way back home... and create actions plans to take of important things in your life.... how would you do that?
A.
