Appreciate even the feelngs that suck...

Those feelings are good, because they show us what areas need our attention.

When you stop and think about it for a moment, doesn't it just make sense?

If there was a problem, then you wouldn't be feeling that way, now would you?

Everybody feels bad sometimes, and that's okay, but the important question that you need to ask yourself is this:

Why do i feel like this about xxx?

When we ask ourself questions, we will get answers.

Once you discover why you feel the way you feel about what you're feeling about.... You can ask yourself even better questions like:

What can i do to change this situation for the better?

The answers you get are usually good answers. You might get one answer. You might get one thousands answers. The neat part about it is that you have the opportunity to sit down... and pick out the answers that make sense to you.

Make sense?

I was just sitting here, feeling crappy all day, even though i could really figure out why: I'd exercised today and i got plenty of sunshine and i even got a chance to study some really interesting material, yet i felt like crap. I was feeling detached all day, like i couldn't feel anything. It was weird. I felt disconnected from people, even though i did have a interesting experience today.

Suddenly, my mom started talking about the pain involved in dental procedures, namely a root canal. As she was talking about the pain and reliving the experience, i could actually feel her pain. It felt like a electric shock at the base of my spine.

Have you ever seen something that looked so painful that you can actually feel the pain of the person involved?

It hurt me to listen almost as much as it hurt her to relive the experience in her mind. And just then, it occurred to me:

I could FEEL. It felt good to FEEL. After a long day of not feeling anything, being completely detached from feelings so to speak, it actually felt good to feel my mother's revivified pain.

On a deeper level, it made me feel as though i was still HUMAN. It made me realize that i still can connect with people and i can still feel things.

You might be asking yourself " what's your point, Amir?"

Here's my point:

Even the "bad" feelings are good, because they tell us that things aren't as they should be, or more specifically, as we would LIKE them to be.

The bad feelings might suck, but they make the awesome feelings even more awesome, wouldn't you agree?

The "sucky" feelings help us appreciate the awesome feelings.

The sucky feelings are like alert system, letting know that we might need to change some things.

The next time you feel sucky, run yourself a warm bath and sit in it and relax. Get out of the house if you can and find some new scenery. Get some exercise. Hey, you can even have a beer with some friends.

Hope this helps anyone,

Amir
